Baby Shower Gift Ideas

You’ve made it through the engagement party, the bridal shower, and the wedding. Next up is the baby shower. If you’re stumped on what to buy don’t worry, we put together some things to keep in mind to get your baby shower gift ideas flowing.

Make it Personal

Think about what your favorite blanket or stuffed animal was growing up and try to shop with that in mind. Wouldn’t it be cool if your shower gift was the one that’s cherished forever? Who knows, maybe it’ll even end up in a keepsake box… No pressure. To ensure that your baby shower gift is keepsake worthy you’ll want to pick a quality fabric that can stand up to the test of time. Muslin fabric is a great option for blankets because it gets even softer every time you wash it. Angel Dear has a great selection of muslin blankets to fit any personality.

Make it Practical

Shopping for baby clothes is more fun than shopping for burp rags and diapers so it’s no surprise that everyone shows up to the shower bearing the latest in baby fashion. Gift baskets are a great option to present the not so glamorous items in a more attractive way. Aim to include an outfit and an accessory or toy amongst the “necessities.” It’s important to also consider the practicality of the outfit if you plan on incorporating clothes into your gift basket. Shop Ahead

New parents are often swamped with newborn clothes and toys that will be quickly outgrown so shopping ahead is always a good idea. If you plan on buying baby clothes in advance make sure you plan for seasonality. Think about how old the child will be when they are finally able to wear it. The general rule of thumb is to double their age until they are 1 to determine their future size. For example, if the child is 9 months old in June, buy clothes for 18–24 months in anticipation of the following Summer.
